Glasgow Recorder Players always welcomes new members who are interested in playing in recorder groups. You are welcome to come for a few rehearsals with no obligation, however we would be delighted if you did join us.
Membership of the Glasgow Recorder Players provides an opportunity to make music with like-minded people in a friendly environment. A reasonable standard of sight-reading is helpful. Each practice has a social side, as we couldn’t do without that cuppa at the break. We have playing sessions with other branches such as Edinburgh, the Borders and Hillfoots as well as joint meetings with the Early Music Forum.
The Recorder Magazine
As a paid up member of the Society you will receive a copy of the
Recorder Magazine every quarter. The magazine is full of interesting
articles, interviews, reviews of new recordings and performances as well
as branch news. It’s well worth a read.
Members of the Society have access to the extensive range of recorder
music contained within our library. All periods of music from are covered
as well as sizes of groups from duets to octets and ranges of levels from
easy to difficult. Music may be borrowed from the library either by
contacting our librarian or at the fortnightly meetings.
